麻豆色情片’s Division of Social Sciences is now offering certification in Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC).

CASAC is a 27-credit on-campus program designed to equip students with the necessary education and skills to enter the addiction services field. 

The program is open to all students, regardless of their major, as well as non-degree-bearing students seeking to enter the field. Upon successful completion of the coursework, which fulfills the minimum education requirement set by New York State’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), students will receive the OASAS 350-Hour Certificate of Completion.

This certificate enables graduates to apply for a trainee certification, known as the CASAC-T certificate. This certification is often a prerequisite for employment in the field. 

This Mount initiative directly addresses a critical gap in the healthcare system by preparing a new generation of counselors to help individuals and communities struggling with addiction.

The field of addiction counseling is currently experiencing a significant boom. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 19 percent increase in employment for substance abuse, behavioral disorder, and mental health counselors between 2023 and 2033, a rate much faster than the average for all occupations.
