Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 is proud to announce a new Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a robust program designed to equip students with the foundational theory and real-world skills necessary for successful careers in the rapidly evolving technology industry.

The new major, offered through the Division of Mathematics, Media, and Computing Sciences, is a 48-credit, comprehensive deep dive into the field that goes beyond basic programming. Students will analyze complex problems and develop and test various software systems, while becoming familiar with associated disciplines such as networking, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and database management.

The curriculum is flexible, allowing students to select electives that align with their career goals. This includes courses from related majors like Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Game Development.

The Mount’s Center for Academic and Career Services (CACS) works closely with Computer Science majors to secure internships as early as their sophomore year, ensuring career readiness. Graduates of the program will be prepared for a variety of in-demand careers, including roles as computer programmers, software developers, web developers, computer systems analysts, game programmers, and software testers.

The Mount is known for its highly accessible faculty, 24/7 access to state-of-the-art computer labs, and plentiful experiential learning opportunities. Students are encouraged to engage in faculty-led research, participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program, and join Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the computing sciences honor society, which sponsors workshops, industry tours, and community service initiatives.
